toronto officiant

Although choosing invitations, caterers, entertainment, wedding and reception locations are important, deciding on the best wedding officiant is crucial. After all, only the officiant can legalize your marriage. You wish to ensure you have chosen the right officiant. I have included several tips to consider when dealing along with your toronto officiant.

FLEXABILITY

First, make sure your wedding officiant is flexible enough to work well with you and your fiancée on all matters as related to their responsibilities in regards to your wedding. May be the officiant willing to work well with you to make a wedding ceremony that you and your fiancée can agree upon? May be the officiant willing to take away or add to your ceremony up before day of the wedding if needed?

LEGAL OFFICIANT

Secondly, make sure your wedding officiant is legal. If he or she is not really a pastor of a church, ask to see their credentials, such as ordination papers. If they are able to not provide proof, then look of an officiant that will show evidence of their credentials. Some states require the wedding officiant be bonded at the county courthouse prior to officiating the service. Please check your state laws prior to hiring your officiant. Following the officiant signs your marriage license, it is your responsibility to obtain the signed form back again to the courthouse.

PAYMENT POLICY

Third, ensure you are clear concerning your wedding officiant's payment policy. Some officiants demand a down payment. Some wish to be paid 2-3 weeks ahead of the wedding. Other officiants will wait til the day of the wedding to collect their fee. What ever the case, just ensure you are in full understanding the officiants policy. Some will require a check. Others will require cash only.

COURTESY EXTENDED

Please ensure you invite your officiant to the rehearsal dinner as well reception following a wedding. It is just a common courtesy. The officiant will appreciate the invitation.

WORD OF MOUTH

If your wedding officiant did a good job at your wedding, you will want to give him or her an endorsement. If your officiant has business cards, ensure you get some good and pass them out when friends and family member are organizing their weddings. If he or she has an internet site, pass the site's web address to those you know are getting married.

Finally, just remember this is your wedding, Make time to ensure everything is simply the way you want it. This includes your choice of the wedding officiant.
