company

Yes, all of us would like to get the most effective deal available and receive around we are able to while spending as little as we can company. This really is human nature. But remember, it is just a delicate balancing act.

When I first started out running a business as a residence painting contractor within the Chicago area in 1984, certainly one of my best customers told me that there are three things that I could offer my customers. He taught me that there have been three core areas of any bid. The three aspects were, high quality, good service and a great price. But, then he told me I could only give my customers two of the three things. He actually told me to ask my customers to decide on which two they preferred.

The laws of economics prohibit anyone from paying a little and finding a lot. None folks can expect to finagle our way into having all three things (good quality, good service, good price). It can not be done. No painting contractor in the world wants to, nor should they be prepared to benefit free....or even for peanuts.

Furthermore, if that painting contractor pays his painters hardly any, exactly the same law applies to him. His painters which are earning only $14 each hour, know only just what a $14 each hour painter ought to know and produce only just what a $14 dollar each hour can produce. This is basically because the greater, knowledgeable, highly productive, professional painters rightfully insist on getting paid more. Many painters in the United States earn over $20, $30 even $50 per hour. That is a fact. So think twice before you hire that guy who promised you what a good job he would do at half the price tag on every one of the other painting contractors.

This economic scenario does not only affect painters either, but to any profession anywhere. It applies for you too. You place a price on the services that you provide and you'd not provide them with away at a loss. Why could you? Well, every other professional available feels exactly the same way that you do.

There are many of highly qualified, quality and service conscious contractors in the Chicago area who offer work on a "reasonable" price, if not the lowest. Many of them discovered by coming up through the ranks and learning the company by trial and error. They made a decision to discover ways to work correctly and become legitimate. Many of them have engineering level training in paint and coatings applications and are members of such credible organizations while the SSPC Society of Protective Coatings, PDCA Painting & Decorating Contractors of America and NACE National Association of Corrosion Engineers, just to mention a few. Many have undergone training through the NCCER National Center for Construction Education & Research, especially for painters. They can't be the lower priced contractors. They can't since they know too much in what goes into a good job. Additionally they know what can fail on a job. They're things that many of the cheap, inexperienced, idealistic newer contractors just do not know. Hence, the experienced, credible contractor will typically cost additional money compared to newer, or inexperienced contractor. Sometimes the lower priced guy doesn't know very well what he's getting himself or his customer into.

You must make some choices. You MUST decide which two (2) core aspects are most critical to you. Then stay with those two core aspects as your goal that you intend to achieve for this kind of paint or coatings project and then go find the painting contractor who will do those a few things for you. Do you want a painting quote with a great price from a painting contractor who will give you good service? That is fine, just ensure that you do not beat the contractor up when the standard isn't that which you expected. Do you want a good price and high quality? That is fine too. Just be sure you are not calling your contractor on the device three times daily, pressuring him about deadlines not being met or the rudeness of his painters, or, or if his crew did not appear, or if he just does not need time to answer your every phone call. After all, he probably did not figure that into his bid or charge you for that. Do you prefer high quality and good service? Great. Just anticipate to pay a little more for that.

You see, most credible, legitimate painting contractors can offer you whatever combination of two core aspects that you want. It's not fair for you or to the painting contractor, for you or the painting contractor to pretend, or expect he can provide all three of the above mentioned core aspects that get into any painting project. If you do not let the painting contractor know that which you are searching for, some tips about what can happen.

If he's a work of the mill painting contractor without a ton of experience, he may just assume that you're like many more he's crossed paths with. He might mistakenly believe you care "only" in regards to a low price. He might offer you your good deal, however you will wind up investing in that with either too little high quality or good service. A big problem is brewing if you were to think that you will be receiving all three core aspects. You will simply receive two. Now, if you know you're giving up either good service or high quality for that good deal, all is well because your expectations will not be dashed.

As a matter of fact. I laugh when I hear or see a painting company advertising that they can give you excellent, first class service and then guarantee to beat anybody's bid. If you ever see that kind of advertising from a painting contractor, that's an indicator he is probably hiding something.

An excellent painting contractor can give you whatever combination of the above mentioned core aspects you wish. So long as you select just two of them. The painter who is bidding the meet your needs will relish it once you let him know that which you are looking for. If you tell him that you want a good deal, then he can build the remaining painting bid around that. If you do not point that out, then most wise, professional, knowledgeable painting estimators will; by default give you a painting quote that reflects high quality and good service at a greater, but reasonable or fair price.

This is simply not necessarily what some customers might look at a good price. But, an informed commercial property or facilities manager as you, will now surely recognize that the higher, but reasonable or reasonable price, sometimes "is" a great price. It certainly doesn't automatically imply that the contractor quoted you a negative price because his price was higher compared to other painting quotes you received.

I understand, I understand, you've heard this before a million times. You get that which you pay for. This worn-out cliche keeps getting repeated because it's true, and needs to be repeated until we "get it" ;.

Incidentally, I do believe there's a theory available that talks about how one cannot achieve something in one single area without investing in it in another area. But, that's for another article.
